ONLINE Index

Welcome Back! If you are new to ONLINE, thanks for taking the time to join our E-Magazine. We've got a big issue this quarter!

First, congratulations to Doug Smart of Wilbros MSI Canada Inc. Doug was the winner of the Panasonic DVD Player we drew June 1st. All subscribers were in the draw, so stay tuned for upcoming contests.

I wrote a book this spring over a very intensive three-month period. The 280-page manual, Intoxilyzer Breath Alcohol Testing - the Professional Guide pretty much left me drained when it came to writing ONLINE, so forgive me that this issue is late in getting to you. If you are interested in workplace alcohol testing, I've adapted part of Chapter 10 of the manual in the first part of a series of articles.

I've also added an Index of ONLINE articles and features that you may be interested in adding as a hotlink to your favorite webpages. We are getting a lot of downloads of our articles (and the photographs & cartoons), so this may help you as an ongoing resource. Who knows, if it becomes popular enough, we may create a page that will have a number of health & safety links, resources, news and legislation that you can set as your default home page. If you would find this useful, let me know.

Since the most popular article we've done so far concerned Bill C-45, you may be interested in the updated article this issue about its implementation as the new section 217.1 of the Criminal Code. I'm very interested in your feedback about the bill and the new legislation, and would like to include your comments in an upcoming article. Please drop me a line and let us hear your views on this important but contentious legislation.

We are putting the finishing touches on the next e-learning title "Fall Arrest in the Workplace". While we've been researching various legislative requirements for the program, frustration at conflicting requirements lead to our article this issue on Substandard Standards.

If creating toolbox training sessions is your responsibility, check out the part 2 article on how to best author a custom toolbox session. You can also download a Toolbox Worksheet to assist you in creating these important training sessions.

Please enjoy the articles, information and fun stuff. And thanks for doing your part to improve the safety in your workplace. PLEASE, encourage others to sign up for ONLINE.

Have a great and safe summer! See you in the fall.
