Taught by an experienced US DOT Breath Alcohol Instructor and former veteran police officer, this intensive 3-day seminar covers the following:

  • Principles and operation of both roadside and evidentiary testing instruments - Including the most commonly used breath alcohol testing devices

  • Specificity of breath alcohol measurements

  • Accuracy of testing procedures

  • Relevant anatomy and physiology

  • Pharmacology of alcohol absorption, distribution, metabolization and elimination

  • Physiological signs and symptoms of impairment, and how they differ from other medical conditions

  • The effects of interferents on testing

  • Roadside sobriety testing principles

  • Police breath testing procedures

  • Component systems of various breath testing instruments - complete knowledge on how they work, and what can go wrong

  • Roundtable discussions on Charter issues and case law - bring your favorite precedents

  • Complete information on instrument operation, maintenance and calibration

  • Breath alcohol testing in the workplace
